The Beginning of the End...

I am officially in my third and final trimester!!!  This has been a pretty interesting week with all that happened on Sunday but everything looks good now and hopefully we won't have any more scares.  I had my glucose test and some other blood work done on Tuesday.  I have to say the orange stuff you have to drink wasn't as bad as I thought.  Luckily it was really cold which I think helped.  It was a lot more than I thought it would be, it's like drinking a 12 oz soda and you have to drink it all within 5 minutes.  I figured the best way to go about it was to just chug it and hope for the best.

Bump Update 28 Weeks
After drinking the stuff you have to wait around for an hour before they can actually do the blood work for the test.  Soooo, I got to sit in the waiting room of LabCorp for an hour.  There are some pretty interesting people that come through there.  As I was going back to finally get the blood work done, a 28 year old was in there doing the 2 hour glucose test (I really hope I don't have to go back and do that) and was on her 5th baby!!!  Holy Cow!!!  I couldn't imagine that.  5 BABIES!!!

So I go back to do the blood work and I explain to the nurse/needle lady that I was in the hospital on Sunday and it may be easier to use my left arm instead of my right since I was still bruised on the right from the hospital.  She takes a look at both and says that the vein on the right is better so she is going to use that one.  Well, she sticks me and then can't get the needle into the vein so eventually agrees that yes, the left would have been better.  She then does my left arm but instead of just sticking the vein she rolls the needle into it, which FYI, does not feel good at all.  Hopefully, this is the last time until I go into labor that I will have to be stuck with needles.

On a lighter note, I registered for the "Prepared Birthing Class" at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center that starts next Wednesday.  The class lasts for 6 weeks and is every Wednesday from 7pm-9:30pm (I hope they do a snack break, LOL).  I am sure I will have some funny and interesting things to post after these classes.  I also have a doctor's appointment next Wednesday so hopefully only good news after that.

How your baby's growing:

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of his head to his heels. He can blink his eyes, which now sport lashes. With his eyesight developing, he may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. He's also developing billions of neurons in his brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.
