Week 27

How your baby's growing:

This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds, like a head of cauliflower, and is about 14 1/2 inches long with his legs extended. He's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing his eyes, and perhaps even sucking his fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While his lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if he were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother him, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

Stats:
How far along: 27 weeks
Sleep:  Still able to get some but not very comfortable.  I get up about every 1 to 2 hours becuase I have to go to the bathroom.  Also,  I have to keep changing which side I sleep on during the night because my hips start hurting.
Maternity Clothes:  Pretty much everything I wear now is maternity.  There are a few tops I can still wear that are not maternity but not much.  Also, I have some pants that I still wear from before as long as I use the belly band to keep them up as I cannot button them anymore.
Food Cravings:  I don't really have any serious cravings.  I did really want some dessert last night so I ate a brownie.  Salad is something that I have started to want on a daily basis again but only with ranch dressing.
Food aversions: Red meat.  I haven't wanted any since I got pregnant.
Symptoms I have: I was having some slight swelling in my hands and feet but it has went away as of this past weekend which I am happy about.  I think Brandon has flipped head down again as all of the movements I feel are in my pelvic and hip region.  He has the hiccups a couple of days ago and I have to say they really do tickle.  Also, I think my hips are moving because every once in a while I will get a slightly uncomfortable feeling.  For the most part though, I can't really complain.
Doctor's Appointment:  January 11
Movement:  I feel like he is moving around all the time.  He seems to be most active at night which I hope changes once he gets here.
Belly Button:  Still an innie :)
What else?:  I will be doing the glucose test next week so I will update as to how that goes.
Here is a bump picture from last week:
