Biophysical and Ultrasound

Had another Doctor's appointment this morning.  It has been about 3 weeks since the last biophysical of Brandon so today was the day to do another.  3 weeks ago he was measuring in the 68 percentile and weighed 4 lbs 12 oz.

Well, today he is MUCH bigger.  He is now measuring in the 78 percentile and weighed in at a whopping 6 lbs 11 oz.  He gained 2 pounds in 3 weeks!  His head is measuring 38 weeks, belly 36.5 weeks and legs 37 weeks.  I am technically only 35 weeks along so he is definitely on the larger side.  He is already head down and facing my back which is how you want them to face for delivery.  We couldn't get any good pictures of him today becuase of how he is situated but we did get to see that he really does have a full head of hair.

Bad news from the doctor today...my blood pressure was slightly elevated so I now get the pleasure of doing a 24 hour pee test.  This means I have to collect my urine for a 24 hour period and then drop it off at outpatient at FWBMC and then get some blood work done.  The best part of all this, I will be doing it tomorrow while at work and I have to keep the pee refrigerated.  Lovely :)

Ultrasound and Doctor's Appointment

Doctor's appointment yesterday went great.  Brandon is already head down which is awesome since they usually that stay this way once they get in this position.  The ultrasound tech said that he doesn't really have any room to move into a breech position so that's good news. He is measuring in the 68 percentile and is already weighing in at a whopping 4lbs 12oz. which is about 8-10oz. bigger than most babies his gestational age.

I think he looks just like Nick and definitely has his giant head, hands and feet.  Brandon has a head full of hair which is neat to know (he won't be a bald baby, LOL).  He was being a wiggle worm again which they say is good and is practicing his breathing for when he makes his grand debut hopefully the end of March (I don't think I'll be able to make it to April).

I have to start going to the doc once a week now so they can keep an eye on my blood pressure and sugar levels but so far everything looks great.  The good news about this is I get ultrasounds every week.  I love being able to see him and how much he is growing.

Below are some new ultrasound pics from yesterday's appointment.

His little face all squished.  He has a cute little nose.

He wouldn't move his arms so we could get a good look.

Giant hand covering his face.   Look how long his fingers are.

25 Weeks

Went to the doctor yesterday and baby is looking great.  Brandon is measuring 1 lb 10 oz which is a little big but I would rather a little big that small.  He is in the 62 percentile for his gestation age which makes me very happy. He is currently breech but they said that he has plenty of room to move around so I shouldn't worry.  Heartbeat is 141 bpm which is about where he has been for the past few months.  Dr. Hennessey said that he is "growing marvelously."  My next appointment will be Jan. 11.  I have to do the glucose test for the next appointment.  Should be interesting as I have heard the stuff you have to drink is gross.

Below are some new ultrasound shots.

His little face.  At the top you will see one of his feet.  Babies are so bendy.

How your baby's growing

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches.  His weight - a pound and a half - isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but he's beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat.  As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn.  He's also growing more hair - and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.

Week 23, Here We Go!

This is my first blog post!!!

I am now in my 23rd week of pregnancy and I am really starting to feel very pregnant.  Brandon is starting to kick and move around A LOT.  His kicks are powerful enough for others to feel as well (this is kinda neat).  He likes to sit really low in my belly so I constantly feel like I have to go to the bathroom which I don't like, especially when I have to wake up about 5 times in the middle of the night.  A couple of weeks ago we had our second trimester testing done which measures all of Baby Brandon's body and checks on all of his organs to make sure everything is developing correctly.  Everything looks great and the ultrasound showed that so far he is pretty big for his gestational age.  I am hoping that he keeps this up and maybe he will get a tall gene from somewhere in the family!!!  Some pics below of little man.

He has giant feet!!!  Just like his daddy :)
Brandon's profile
How far along? 23 weeks
Stretch marks? I think a few small ones are starting to come around.  :(
Sleep: It depends.  Some nights are better than others.  I wake up a lot having to go to the bathroom though.
Best moment this past week: Really starting to feel Brandon kick now.
Food cravings: Veggies.
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? Still an innie!!!  Maybe mine won't pop out :)
What I miss: Wine!!!  I think this is because I just had a fabulous weekend with the girls.
What I am looking forward to: Nick being able to finally feel Brandon kick.  Brandon will stop every time Nick tries to feel him.  It's kinda funny :)
Weekly Wisdom: Enjoy this now because it's going to get a lot harder.
